Well, it has been some days, since I’ve written a blog. It is on my list of things to do. But does that mean, it gets done? Not always and not automatically. So let’s talk a little about that today.

I’ve seen and read dozens of video’s, blogs and books about getting things done. Make a list, don’t make a list etc. Not all the experts say the same thing. Basically it comes down to this: how important is this job/ project/ task for me??

I signed up to write 30 blogs in 30 days. I’m on day 22 and as we speak blog number 9 is on his way. These blogs are important to me, get on my to do list every day and still I’m not writing them. I know it is important, but I’m not giving it the attention, focus and time it needs. Sounds familiar?

Let me be clear here: this has nothing to do with time! I had the time to watch The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift on TV last night. Definitely not on my priority list, but I spend that time watching and not writing. So this morning I was pondering about the importance of priorities and getting them straight. If I have the time to sit in front of a TV, I most certainly have the time to write. I allow myself to be distracted. I allow other people to distract me, I allow not important things to distract me. I let fear of being the best I can be distract me.

So, how do I solve this? First of all, awareness. I am aware of the distracting. If I don’t know I have a problem or letting myself get distracted, I wouldn’t know or feel that there is something that needs to be fixed. So getting aware of it is really important. Is there something, you need to get aware off?

The second is getting straight and committed to my goals. Both are very important. If I don’t know what my goals are or if they are not SMART, I still don’t know what I’m doing all the time or what for. My goals are easy. The short version: my family, my business and my personal growth. But I can still know what I would like to change or do, but if I’m not committed to them….I still will not see the results I would like to. So every day, I look at my goals (if they are big, slice them to little goals)and tasks and recommit to them. Are you clear on your goals? Are they SMART? Are you committed to them?

Then comes another piece of the puzzle. I have to take action! I can be aware, know my goal and be committed, but if I just sit there and do nothing…..nothing will happen. I have to get out of my chair and do what is required. So in this case, sit and write my blog. And now do this another 21 days and I’m done. And when would be a good time to start? Today! In case you haven’t checked your calendar for a while. Someday is not in there. So today is a good day to start. Not sure on the how? No problem. Just get started. Not doing anything it all is way worse. No action= no results! Are you taking action?

These things are the easiest when you have an accountability partner. Someone who asks where your blog is for instant. Or motivates you when you don’t see it right away what it is, that needs to be done. Sitting done in front of a TV is not helping getting things done. It only makes it harder to shut it off and do what is important (or say what is important). Do you have an accountability partner? Write me if you need one!

When your actions and words aren’t allying with each other, you are not clear on goals, not committed to them and basically, not getting any results. You have to put your money where your mouth is. You have to walk the walk and talk the talk. Searching for results? You have to take action. NOW.

I know it’s hard. No one ever said it would be easy, but is will be doable. In need of some motivation or finding your real passion? I can totally offer some help there. Try doTerra Motivate Encouraging blend for motivation and getting your stuff done (like now!), feel more hopeful, energized, confident and motivated. Try doTerra Passion Inspiring blend to find your passion, to feel inspired and alive, to be more creative and spontaneous. Just a few drops in a diffuser or a single drop on your wrist do the trick. I always use them before an important meeting. Works wonders for me. Both blends and many more are available in the shop. If you have any questions let me know. I love to help them. I promise, I won’t wait 21 days to answer you ?.

But be aware of your distraction, set SMART goals and commit to them, take action and if possible work with an accountability partner. Use oils that motivate and help you reach your goals. Before you know it, you’ll surpass your goal. You can do it! You had the power in you all along my dear.

To your health,

Marie-Christine
